Benfield Motor Group is an independent family owned business that was founded in the North East in 1957.
From modest beginnings the Company has grown over the past 50 years, investing over £20 million in brand new sites and refurbishment of existing dealerships, to become one of the largest and best known private companies in the motor retailing market.
Benfield currently has 25 dealerships across the North East, North West and Yorkshire, representing brands such as Alfa Romeo, Ford, Kia, Lexus, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Toyota and Volkswagen.
Benfield can attribute a great deal of its success to establishing and nurturing partnerships with key manufacturers. Benfield has been awarded Preferred Partner Status for Renault and Nissan in Tyneside, Cumbria and Northumberland and represents the largest Volkswagen territory in the UK with four dealerships and a one of the largest dedicated Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Centre’s in England, located in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Benfield’s largest dealership in the North East opened in July 2004. The twin Renault/Nissan dealership on the Felling Bypass marks a bold step into the future of motor retailing.
With 5 Ford dealerships in Yorkshire, as well as Lexus and two Toyota centres, including one the largest Toyota Centres in the United Kingdom, Benfield are fast becoming a major player in this area too.
Benfield have recently launched their own Benfield Corporate division. A dedicated facility for the business customer, to cater for fleets of all sizes, Benfield Corporate supply new and used vehicles for purchase or with bespoke leasing and hire purchase plans. Based in the North East, Benfield Corporate are a local business to serve local businesses.
Benfield is committed to providing exceptional customer service and invest heavily in ongoing training and development to ensure that all employees are trained to the very highest standards. Indeed, Benfield won recognition for dedication to training at the Automotive Management QSI Awards in 1999, and is the largest dealership group to be accredited with Investor in People Accreditation. Benfield was also awarded The Gold QSI Award for large dealer groups in 2001.
Benfield Charitable Trust continues to develop with 5% of all annual profits going into the Trust each year meaning community projects and charities benefit as our own business grows.
