As has always been the case with seven new vehicles bought from Benfield Ford over the years; the Service and attention to detail was first class.The sales executive,Chris Harper was excellent and the sale of the new vehicle including the Finance package was all completed in under an hour.The two terms i would use would be professionalism and quality and i would have no reservations in recommending Benfield Harrogate to friends and family.Very well done and Thankyou.
my experiance with your salesman was overall very good although they do give the impression that benfield are paying for the £20 of fuel and the road tax but as i was shown all the paper work ity is very clear that these are added to the price of the car (no reciept is provided for the fuel so benfield cannot prove they actually put this in the car)
i was also told that the car had been serviced and fully checked over,this has not been the case. under the bonnet was covered completely in dirt,so much so that you couldnt tell what the colour of the paintwork is,i have spent to date 3 hours cleaning the engine compartment.due to the condition of the engine compartment i checked the air filter,which i have had to change as it was not fit for purpose,the fuel filter looks as though it has never been changed so i have had to change it and so i can only assume the engine oil needs changing,your service dept hadnt even topped this up,it is well below the top mark.
i can only assume that your service dept checked the service schedule,saw it had been stamped in february and decided nothing needed checking.
i feel so strongly about the state the engine compartment was in and the lack of checks that i am considering putting a complaint in to ford uk,as an approved dealer i would have expected a much better level of service and i should not have to spend money servicing a car myself that i have had a week,your harrogate dealership is an hours drive away from me so its not convenient for me to travel there to complain and get this car to the level of cleanliness and service as i would have expected

I recently bought a Ford from the Harrogate branch.
On arrival we were asked if we needed any help and I explained we needed to have a good look at the cars on view.
No hassle or pressure was put on us at any stage and we took about 1 hour to choose a car we liked.
After making our decision we asked the salesman Dave to proceed and were given a test drive of about 30 minutes, on return we decided to buy the car.
I pointed out a small external fault on the vehicle and it was dealt with to our complete satisfaction in the days between us buying the car and collecting it.
I had an old worn out car and this was taken without fuss for part exchange at a price we found acceptable.
To sum up I would recommend Benfield garage to everyone I know.
Dave the salesman was extremely well mannered and made us feel very comfortable throughout the buying process and is a credit to the business.

Initialy dealt with David Combes after seeing a Ford Focus on the website agreed the deal with David, the car itself was at the Horrogate branch and was then passed through to Simon Tennant who then arranged to have the car delivery to my home address, the first time in seen the car was when it was delivered by Frank the driver, I checked over the car everything was as promised. The fact I remember everyone's name is a testament to the excellent service I received from Benfield Motors all in all the least stressful car buying experience ever. I will defiantly buy from Benfield again sets the standards for other car dealers.

We have dealt with him for a number of years when he worked for Batchelors of Ripon. Once we found he had moved to Benfield it was only a matter of time until we bought a new car from him.

This was the first time I had bought a new car and the whole experience was excellent. Rob Chapman was both professional and friendly, answering all my questions and explaining the process clearly and succinctly. I was offered a test drive and allowed time alone to discuss the purchase with my son who accompanied me. At no time did I feel under any pressure or obligation. I came away knowing I had got the best deal suited to my needs. The car was beautifully presented when I collected it. I hope the after care is as perfect!

I recently took my Sister in Law to Benfield in Harrogate. She is a very nervous person and not comfortable in an environment such as a garage as she feels she is under pressure. We met Nigel McCarthy who was extremely helpful, humouress and professional. My sister in law bought a second hand car on the same day, Nigel ensured this purchase was as simple as possible and delivered the car to my sister in law in Wetherby.
The following week we decided to buy my daughter a new car, I had no hesitation in re-visiting Nigel, yet again his customer service was second to none and tailored to the mind set of a twenty year old, quite different to what was required with my sister in law. We bought a new Ka on the same day.
The following weekend we repeated the process for my wife! Three cars in as many weeks all with the same sales person. By profession I am a Customer Experience Manager and as such highly tuned to good and bad customer service. Had Nigels customer service not been first class his chances of selling me one car would have been remote, let alone three!
Nigel should be congratulated on his excellent service, he has certainly guarenteed further business from myself and I would not hesitate to recommend him personally and therefore Benfield Harrogate.

I have now had numerous cars purchased from Benfield's and had outstanding service from their sales team at the Harrogate division.
All of my deals have been conducted through Danny Hustwith whom I have found to be excellent in all aspects, his product knowledge, financing advise, general helpfulness, is swift to react on requests and has a pleasing pleasant manner. Initially I used to shop around and check other dealerships for a better deal against what Danny quoted, I now know that is a waste of time and trust Danny to always to be competitive.
Danny is a unique car salesman, he always does his homework and quotes knowing it would be difficult for his proposal to be bettered.

Initially when you asked for feedback on our experience, I would have been happy to recommend Benfield. This was based on an attentive salesman on Sunday Jan 6th, and the anticipation of buying a good car, which we hadn’t seen at that time.
10 days on we are less than impressed. The initial date of 12th Jan for buying the car came and went – the car wasn’t ready – we had to chase this information, it wasn’t offered to us. So we renegotiated the 19th Jan.
On the day of the 19th, we decided to go ahead and buy the car, which we are pleased with. But the attention to detail in terms of the sale has been appalling.
All the paperwork stated we’d bought the car on the 12th, and hadn’t been amended to the 19th, the mileage stated was nearly 2000 miles too low, and we had no Benfield Assist phone number or policy details given to us. The breakdown details were also wrongly dated, giving us 1 week less than we were entitled to.
The 7-day free insurance, which we’d arranged for the 12th, hadn’t been changed to run for the following week – or if it had (as I’d been told it would be when I rang on 16th Jan) we hadn’t been given the correct paperwork to say it had been. So 5.30pm Saturday when we spotted that our insurance would expire at 23.59 that night we had no choice but to take out our own insurance, not wishing to leave a new car on our drive uninsured – and unable to call you or our salesman as it was after closing time.
I spoke to the sales manager at Harrogate on Sunday as our salesman was off. He assured me our salesman would call Monday to rectify this, and discuss reissuing the paperwork. We have had no call.
I am very disappointed that what should be a pleasant experience has now been tainted. And having had Benfield Ford recommended to us by other customers, I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t be recommending them to others. I hope you are able to make amends in some way for this – and arrange for all the correct paperwork to be issued.

After having a terrible experience with Polar Ford Bradford who tried to bully me into taking a finance deal on a stubstantially higher APR than originally offered they then refused to return the £200 they had taken from me to "secure" the car I called Benfield Ford Harrogate and spoke to John who took an entirely different approach to car sales, helpful, consultative and not pushy he tailored a package to my needs that I could afford and was much better than orginally offered by Polar Ford. Managed my expectations very well and had the car ready 2 days sooner than originally anticipated. Very happy.

I was dealt with very well and professionally by David. The second hand car I bought was good value for money and small scratches and dents were agreed to be repaired. The one year warranty only added to the value for money together with the service given to the car before it is handed over to me.
Very efficient service and car was ready at the time agreed. I was notified by phone of any problems and my agreement was always sought over resolving any mechanical/technical issues that were noticed. The staff are friendly and courteous and I would have no hesitation in recommending the branch (Harrogate) to other Ford owners.

Yes i rang Ben on Thurs and we got trade in offer sorted when we went back for another test drive on saturday. We ended up buying!! A lovely new Citygo. Only downside is the wait till september but i'm sure it'll be worth it!
my car has been in for a service, mot and other work requiring a diagnostic checks but a couple of weeks later, I find out my glow plugs needed changing and I thought this may have been noticed earlier

I've spoken with our Service Manager Martin Atkinson and I believe he dealt with you personally on this. Your glow plugs would not have shown up as needing replacement at service unless they showed a fault at that time which they did not. It is unfortunate they chose to misbehave two weeks later but we thank you for your feedback.
All the work needed for the service was carried out expertly and I was informed of work required and any problems encountered. Problems occured due to the age of the car which meant the car was kept longer than expected.but the overall experience was highly satisfactory.
Great service and agreement for car to be ready for a certain time was honoured - indeed it ws ready much earlier than anticipated. Only downside is the cost of servicing and MOT in comparison with other garages.

I was always kept advised of progress on what was a major service. When it became apparent that the job may not be finished on the day I was provided with a courtesy car until mine was ready the following day. A full explanation of the final bill was also given.
