Staff at Benfield Dumfries are friendly, helpful and informative. A detailed explanation is given for any work carried out and the summary printout provides a useful colour coded record of work as well as highlighting any issue that may need to be looked at in the future e,g. tyre tread wear.
Good to have a driver to take you back home and to pick you up again when the car is ready after being serviced. Overall, the impression is of a very professional and well-run garage with a strong focus on customer service.

I have always been very pleased with the service I have received from Benfield. I would have little hesitation in recommending this company to others.
very happy with service provided when I had my MOT test carried out at Benfield. I was told that this would take two hours at most, however it was about 5 hours before I got my car back. I was advised that this was due to a problem with the MOT certificate printer which I accepted. The only other issue was that I had, was that they did not post date my certificate. My old cert did not expire until 1st May, and although the car was tested on 22nd April, my new certificate was date stamped from that date not 1st May as it should have been. Otherwise happy with service, and fact that my car was washed etc.

Thanks for your feedback and apologies that there was a delay in printing out the MOT certificate. With regard to the date on the certificate, the MOT computerisation is directly linked to VOSA and the certificate is automatically forward-dated if relevant. We have no control over this. Please check the two certificates (last year's and this year's) and, if there are discrepancies you are concerned about, please contact us and we will take this up directly with VOSA and ask them to amend accordingly.

Salesman Colin was extremely helpful, patient and informative, enabling me to take time to make a considered choice between three different cars, test driving each one. I appreciated the time he gave me.
My experience was marred by an one hour wait on the day of collection; Colin had been directed to another customer, with whom there was some unanticipated delay. Other salesroom staff, including the manager,were aware that I was waiting but did not offer to help . After 55 minutes waiting,I rose and spoke to the manager myself. I was attended to about five minutes later.
As a self employed person, the hour lost was a considerable inconvenience both to me, and the other people whose deadlines I have to meet
The car was well presented, and I very much appreciated the apology plus extra fuel which Colin gave me because of the delay.
I have since discovered a minor fault in a wiper blade, and have been assured of prompt attention.

Sorry you were kept waiting for an unacceptable length of time when collecting your vehicle. Unfortunately another member of staff was off ill and Colin was assisting with their customer when you arrived. This took longer than anticipated and obviously had a knock on effect in delaying your appointment. Since you have brought this to our attention we have now changed how we deal with vehicle handovers when a member of staff is off ill. We thank you for your patience on the day and for your feedback.

Only way I can fault Benfield is the constant follow up calls...but maybe that's how the customer service got so good. I used this dealership when they were Bradfords and also Verve. Staff always pleasant and helpful but, since 'Benfieldisation' , overall standard (even) better and more efficient. Overall, I find Benfield VW Dfs an extremely good place to deal with, both for service and for sales. And no, I'm not the father of any of its staff, or Directors.
