The original Ford KA proved a huge success for Ford, with almost one and a half million buyers, and the All New Ford KA gains a host of important improvements including a diesel option for the first time.

The KA is the latest to adopt Ford’s cutting-edge kinetic design, together with a range of personalisation packages and is expected to attract a more balanced mix of male and female buyers as a result.

Improvements in terms of driving dynamics, economy, environmental-friendliness, safety and style are dramatic, placing the Ford KA at the forefront of the new generation of ultra-sophisticated super-minis.

Standard features on the entry-level Studio model of the The New Ford KA include electric power assisted steering, height-adjustable steering wheel, anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger front airbags, headlamp courtesy delay system and body-coloured bumpers. Six speakers, CD radio with MP3 compatibility and AUX-in connector also come as standard on all KA models.

The style model of the Ford KA adds powered and heated body-coloured door mirrors, electric front windows with driver-side one-touch up and down, body-coloured door handles, remote/central locking, driver seat height adjust and 50/50 rear split seat, rear headrests and driver seat memory function.

Upgrading to the Style+ KA adds air conditioning and heated windscreen.

Additional features of the Zetec model of the New Ford KA over the Style+ include 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, remote central locking, upgraded instruments and trip computer plus theatre dimming interior lights. There are six option packs with three special themes of Grand Prix, Tattoo and Digital Art that encompass distinctive interior and exterior design treatments.

The All New Ford KA may be a small vehicle, but it has been engineered to meet Ford’s strict in-house safety design guidelines.

At the heart of the Ford KA is the bodyshell, which has been developed to provide an incredibly strong, stable crash structure to protect passengers in the event of an accident.

The bodyshell of the Ford KA is combined with an Intelligent Protection System (IPS), which integrates airbags, restraint systems and seating technologies to provide a highly effective occupant safety system.

The All New Ford KA models are equipped with a minimum of two air bags but up to half a dozen plus Electronic Stability Control in addition to the standard anti-lock brakes are available as options.

The New Ford KA models are almost totally recyclable and have among the lowest CO2 ratings whilst using fuel at one of the most frugal rates of any car regardless of size.

The All New Ford KA offers a choice of petrol or diesel engines, with both mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The 1.2-litre Duratec unit develops 69bhp and has a CO2 figure of just 119g/km, placing it below the all-important 120g/km figure for lower taxation. It is 21 per cent more economical than the 1.3-litre version it replaces with an economy figure of 55.4mpg. It accelerates to 60mph in 13 seconds and has a 100mph top speed for effortless 70mph motorway cruising.

The 1.3-litre Duratorq turbodiesel engine has a power output of 75bhp and a CO2 rating of just 112g/km with economy of 67.3mpg. Performance figures the same as those of the petrol model.

There are four trim-levels for the 1.2-litre petrol-powered Ford KA, comprising Studio at £9,360, Edge costing £10,110, the best-selling Ford KA Zetec version at £10,860 and Titanium at £11,360.

The 1.3 TDCi diesel Ford KA model comes in well-equipped Zetec form only with a price tag of £11,860 and Titanium at £12,360.

There is also a choice of personalisation options of Grand Prix, Digital, Tattoo and Tattoo Premium on offer at prices beginning at £11,360 for Tattoo.
