The Scheme

• In the Government Budget on the 22 April 2009, Chancellor Alistair Darling announced the introduction of a Government Car Scrappage Scheme, a £2,000 allowance on vehicles aged 10 years or over.
• In exchange for scrapping your old vehicle and buying a new one, the Government and Manufacturers will contribute a total of £2,000 towards the puchase of a new vehicle.
• The Benfield dealerships will take care of everything for you, including claiming the incentive on your behalf and arranging the scrapping of your old vehicle
